Messaging/Positioning – Product Marketing

I’ve been doing some new learning recently and this has been my favourite self paced online course

Why?
– I discovered that product maraketing is something I naturally align with [despite the word ‘marketing’ scaring me a little] and have been doing without knowing for a long time. Messaging & poisitioning is the foundation to this
– The content is so clear, broken down into bite sized chunks
– They are all videos so I can watch on the go, through I mainly listen

What stood out for me is that messaging is not copywriting. They are key ideas, messages we want to communicate – they’ don’t nee’re not meant to be public. The writing part comes later so that they land well in the outside world. They are foundational and getting them right is a brilliant process.


In my recent consultancy work, I’ve worked to do this with Barking and Dagenham Community Music Hub [I have enjoyed this work relationship for 8 years now] and luxe events company Eleven Eleven Studio [internationally expanding business]. Very different worlds and both neding chelp to articulate their offer alongside values.
